I loved it!!!!! Must read!!

I must say, this is the first book that I have read by Mr. Coleman and it is definitely a page turner. I completed it in less than one day. I really does focus on how we as individuals make decisions that will decide our fate and test our faith. It also makes the reader look at why people do the things that they do. Abraham had a strong belief in GOD yet he participated in Malik's activities in order to make the best of the situations he was put in. He believed he was doing what was necessary to make it to what he truly wanted to do, which was to make it out of the projects. The story also points out that what goes around really does comes around no matter what.
I can't wait to read another novel by Mr. Coleman. This book really held my attention and that can be difficult to do. If I pick up a book that does not catch my attention by the first one or two chapters I will put it down and move on. I was not disappointed by this one. I would purchase this book again in a heartbeat!!!!!!!

Not the new Donald Goines, but the first Darren Coleman!!

I AM AN AVID READER ESPECIALLY OF AFRICAN AMERICAN FICTION. FROM ALICE WALKER TO WAHIDA CLARKE AND EVERYONE IN BETWEEN I'VE READ IT ALL. HOWEVER NOT SINCE I READ "BLACK BOY" BY RICHARD WRIGHT HAVE I BECOME SO IMMEDIATELY INTRIGUED BY CHARACTERS AS I WAS THE FIRST TIME I READ "DO OR DIE". THIS BOOK IS THE DEFINITIVE PIECE, ALONG WITH SISTA SOULJA'S "COLDEST WINTER EVER" TO THIS NEW URBN LIT REVOLUTION. IF YOU HAVENT READ IT, YOUR SLEEPIN AND YOU NEED TO GET ON IT. IF YOU HAVE AND DIDNT LIKE IT, THEN YOU ARE A SAD CASE, AND YOU SHOULD GET YOUR BRAIN CHECKED. WHAT MR. COLEMAN DID WITH THESE CHARACTERS IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING, AND THE STORY IS SO ORIGINAL AND BRILLIANT, IT SHOOK ME TO THE VERY CORE OF MY BEING. PEACE, BLESSINGS, AND APPLAUSE TO YOU BROTHER COLEMAN.

The Best Book Ever Made

I'm going to try to make this short. Stop whatever you're doing right now and pick up this book. It's the best book I've ever read and trust me, I'm a serious reader. From the jump-off, this book grabs you and you can't put it down. I'm a medium speed reader and I read this whole book (326 pgs.) in practically 2 days with no exxageration. I even stayed up until 2 a.m. because I couldn't put it down. Also, it has an excellent ending. I'm not going to give anything away but I'll say what goes around comes around. This book is powerful (with such a sad ending) that I had to look at tv to change my mindset before I went to bed. But to summarize this...this book will teach you alot.
